  1. Acceptable evidence of academic attendance online:
    1. student submission of an academic assignment
    2. student submission of an exam
    3. documented student participation in an interactive tutorial or computer-assisted instruction
    4. discussion forum posting
    5. posting by the student showing participation in an online study group
    6. an e-mail from the student or other documentation showing that the student-initiated contact with a faculty member to ask a question about the academic subject studied in the course.
  2. Recording Web Attendance:
The E goes on the first day the student enters the class (being seated, or online).
    1. For hybrid classes: The E goes on the first day the student is sitting in your classroom. For the distance learning (online) portion, the E should match the first day the student completed the first LMS activity or assignment (see Section A.a). Both portions of WebAttendance should receive E's.
    2. For fully online classes: The E goes on the first day the student completed their first assignment (see Section A.a). If the fully online class has two portions (both lab and lecture) then the E will automatically populate to the second portion.
    3. Be sure to mark no-shows in a timely manner (by checking the No Show box next to the student name). Remember, students have up to the census date to "enter" the class before being withdrawn
    4. Next, withdraw the student in Colleague (adjuncts may ask your chair/dean for help).
    5. If a student is in class the first day, and then that is also their last day, the marking would be EL.
    6. If a student is withdrawn at any time during the semester, please be sure the L is placed under the appropriate date in WebAttendance and the student is withdrawn in Colleague as well (adjuncts, please ask your chair/dean for help).
  3. Unenrolling Student from Online Course Post Census:
Verify the student has been removed from Web Attendance through Colleague BEFORE attempting. This procedure is to ONLY be used for withdrawing students due to Census.
