The Board consists of 15 members, four of whom are appointed by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, four by the Henderson County Board of Public Education, two by Transylvania County Commissioners, four by the Governor of North Carolina, eight by the NC General Assembly (four from the House and four from the Senate) and the President of the Student Government Association who serves as an ex-officio member.
Either board of County Commissioners may delegate the election of one or more of its trustee appointments to a public board of education in the College's administrative area.
